Hip

Hip pain travels. It shows up in the groin, the buttock, the outside of the leg or the knee, which is why it is so often treated in the wrong place.

The approach

How hip care runs here

Hip pain comes from injury, overuse, a structural problem inside the joint, or inflammation in the soft tissue around it. Those four causes need four different plans, so the evaluation is about separating them before anything else happens.

Much hip pain responds to targeted therapy, activity change and injections. Structural problems — dysplasia, advanced arthritis, a fracture — are a different conversation, and one we will have directly.

When replacement is the right answer, it is one of the most reliable operations in orthopedics. We will tell you honestly whether you are at that point or not.
